- Retention: Inquiries are retained in our secure database for twelve (12) months after resolution, after which they are permanently deleted, unless early deletion is legally requested.
B. Aggregate and Anonymous Usage Data
To improve our programming, our database logs anonymous event counts, including:
- Radio listening sessions initiated.
- Prayers or daily readings opened.
- Parish search terms that yield no results (to help us expand our directory).
- Events exported to your local calendar.
These counts are completely anonymized and contain no names, accounts, device IDs, IP addresses, or advertising identifiers.
3. On-Device Processing (Data Never Sent to Our Servers)
Certain App features require device permissions but process data strictly locally on your smartphone. We do not transmit, collect, or store this data on our servers.
- Location Services: If you grant permission, the App uses approximate location data to sort nearby parishes. This process occurs entirely in your device's memory. Precise GPS tracking is disabled.
- Device Calendar: The App can open your native calendar to pre-fill event details. It cannot read, scan, or extract your personal calendar appointments.
- Notifications: Reminders for programmes or prayers are scheduled locally. The App requires notification permissions to display these alerts.
- Local Storage: App preferences and offline copies of readings/prayers are saved in your device's sandboxed local storage.
4. Third-Party Services and Infrastructure
We rely on verified third-party infrastructure to deliver content. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to advertisers.
- Radio Streaming (RadioJar): When you connect to our live broadcast, your IP address and standard player details are routed to our streaming provider, RadioJar. This is used strictly for stream delivery and generating anonymized listener geographic totals. Preces Radio makes no warranties regarding the uninterrupted availability of the third-party stream.
- Embedded Video (YouTube): Videos within the App are served via YouTube. Viewing these subjects you to Google's Privacy Policy.
